Board Certified
Intellectual Property Law Board Certification
Board certification recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice. Certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in the areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida.
“The Florida Bar’s board certification program sets high standards for lawyers who aspire to further their professionalism credentials. Attorneys who earn Florida Bar board certification have demonstrated their expertise and commitment to excellence in the practice of law.”
-Florida Bar President, Jesse H. DinerIn 2007, I was in the first group of Florida Bar lawyers to be afforded Board Certified status in the area of Intellectual Property Law. As a Board Certified Specialist, I’m uniquely suited to provide you with counseling on patent law, trademark law and copyright law. I’m also currently a member of the Florida Bar Intellectual Property Certification Committee, which is the body charged with vetting applicants for board certification, as well as preparing the exam taken by the applicants.
Not all qualified lawyers are certified, but those who are board certified have taken the extra steps to have their competence and experience recognized.
I am so proud of my Board Certified status that last year I flew the Florida Bar’s Board Certification flag when I sumitted the Grand Teton in Wyoming via the perilous North Ridge route.
This motivated my fellow Board Certified lawyers to carry the same flag to other locations around the globe.
