Jesús serves as Operations Manager at The Plus IP Firm, where he oversees the day-to-day operations that support the firm’s attorneys and clients, and works to make each stage of the process smoother for the people it serves.
He brings more than fourteen years of business development, sales, and marketing experience to the role. Jesús earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla and a Master’s in International Business and Management from ICHEC Brussels Management School in Belgium. He speaks Spanish natively, English fluently, and enough French and Portuguese to be dangerous at a dinner table.
His path to operations ran through some unlikely places. He started in commercial banking at Leasing Bancolombia, managing a US$3M SME portfolio, then spent five years as manager, owner, and brewmaster of a craft brewery in Barranquilla—launching a beer from zero, building distribution across four cities on the Colombian coast, and negotiating directly with restaurant and specialty retail buyers until his brands held top billing in four of the city’s leading restaurants. Running a business where you handle sales, production, and payroll yourself teaches you what actually matters operationally, and that lesson shows up in how he manages the firm today.
Jesús has also taught at Universidad del Norte since 2021, serving as an adjunct professor in the Department of Marketing and Business, where he teaches International Brand Management and Global Business Protocol. In a recent semester he led four courses and 100 students, including a team of students who delivered a marketing and sales consultancy for a local small business. He genuinely enjoys the teaching—there’s something clarifying about explaining how international commerce works to people encountering it for the first time.
Outside the office, Jesús plays as much as he watches—a Premier League devotee who still turns out for weekend soccer himself. He travels whenever the calendar allows, and he cooks seriously enough that guests have learned to arrive hungry.
